100 years of powered flight in Canada.

Today is the 100th anniversary of the first powered flight in Canada.

One hundred years ago today, the AEA Silver Dart, left the cold ice of lake Bras d'Or and took to the sky.

The pilot, J.A.D. McCurdy, was interviewed by the CBC on the 50th anniversary of the flight.

Solar eclipse. From the MOON!

Our friends at the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, JAXA, have placed a probe in orbit around the moon. The probe, named KAGUYA, was launched September 14th, 2007.

Happy 445th Birthday Galileo,

Born in 1564, Galileo Galilei, know as the father of observational astronomy, made improvements to the telescope that allowed him to make observations that confirmed Copernicus' idea that the Sun, not the Earth, was at the centre of our solar system.
