Harper's at it again!

In his latest attempt to destroy democracy in Canada, Harper is pushing to have a pro-right wing t.v. station up and running as soon as possible.

Our "wonderful" prime minister has been attending secret lunch meetings as reported on MSN news, "On March 30, 2009, Prime Minister Stephen Harper sat down for lunch in New York with Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes. The meeting was not on any public itinerary released by the Prime Minister's Office and only came to light when The Canadian Press searched media consultant Ari Fleischer's mandatory disclosures with the U.S. Justice Department."

“Prime Minister Harper is trying to push American-style hate media onto our airwaves, and make us all pay for it. His plan is to create a ‘Fox News North’ to mimic the kind of hate-filled propaganda with which Fox News has poisoned U.S. politics. The channel will be run by Harper’s former top aide and will be funded with money from our cable TV fees!”, said Margaret Atwood in an interview with the Globe and Mail.

So far the CRTC has rejected Quebecor’s request.

As we have seen in the past, i.e. Chalk River and the long census debacle, When Harper wants something he will do whatever it takes to get it. The "emperor's" ego knows not the meaning of the word democratic process, nor the concept of government for the people by the people.

Unfortunately democracy in Canada has been dying a slow and painful death since "emperor" Harper has twisted the concept of a minority government into a "minority-majority" government by default.

The chair of the CRTC is the only person standing between the "emperor" and one of the remaining threads of democracy left in this country. Unfortunately Konrad von Finckenstein may find himself as the latest victim of Harpers wrath. Ultimately he will either be fired or will be forced to resign as the "emperor" sends down an edict from his lofty throne and reduces the CRTC chair to nothing more than another figure head in the "emperor's" cabinet.

The last thing we need is a Harper run t.v. station.

The idea of Harper's emperor t.v. reminds me of the old joke about Russian t.v.
In communist Russia there was plenty of variety on the t.v.
But they only had two t.v. stations.
The first station was the communist sponsored station.
And the second was a video of a communist party official telling you to turn back to the first station.

There is a petition at,, I signed it and I urge to do the same.
