A little hot under the collar.

George Monbiot asks Mr. van de Veer some tough questions.

The "dark clouds" are begining to clear.

During the first few days of President Obama's administration, we are already seeing positive change.

We have hope again.

International year of Astronomy 2009

This year, 2009, has been declared the international year of Astronomy.

To quote, from the IYA2009 website, "The International Year of Astronomy 2009 is a global effort initiated by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) and UNESCO to help the citizens of the world rediscover their place in the Universe through the day- and night-time sky, and thereby engage a personal sense of wonder and discovery."

Maybe this year I will finally buy that telescope I have always wanted.

Hitchens vs. Turek debate.

The video quality is crappy but the debate is certainly worth watching.
Hitchens kicks Turek's ass in the second half of the debate.
This is just another creationist who has a book to sell and who thinks he has come up with a new way to disprove evolution.

WRONG!

The most idiotic attempt of disproof I have ever seen.

When I read this "article" at the L.F. Nexus's website I was left speechless.

This "explanation" of why the theory of evolution is untrue just boggles the mind.

What a load of crap!

Once again someone who doesn't understand even the most basic idea of what evolution really is, has imposed a strict rule that must be met, otherwise evolution is not true.

I quote, "A theory requires: A significant amount of evidence. Evolution requires billions of years of evidence. Darwin published his theory in 1859. So, at most, really stretching the facts to favor the theory of evolution, there are only: 149 years of evidence. Now, we will be insanely generous and say that evolution requires only one billion (1,000,000,000) years of time. This means that: Evolutionists have 149 years out of 1,000,000,000 years of the evidence that they need."

There is billions of years of evidence available. The real problem here is that religious dogma will not allow the ID/Creationists to acknowledge it.

Dr. Michael J. Bisconti's use of the word "insanely" seems to sum up his entire diatribe very nicely.

A perfect example of running with "blinders" on.

Over a year ago, Peter Schiff was telling the Wall street investors and the public at large that the American economy was in trouble.

And what did they do?

They laughed at him, made snide comments about his "crazy" ideas and dismissed him as a doom and gloom naysayer.

Who's laughing now?

Part 1.

Part 2.

What does this say about the credibility of these analysts?

Are they intentionally lying, or are they just incompetent?

Either way I wouldn't trust them with my money!

Less than a month till Darwin day.

In less than a month, February 12th, the scientific and secular freethinking community will be celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin. Darwin's work helped to solidify and explain the theory of evolution at a time when the only "reasonable" explanation for life was creationism.

Lewis Black - The Devil's Handiwork.

Sometimes, this is how I feel when I'm confronted with the same old creationist arguments.
