ID vs. Evolution debt, ID style.

As is typical with this type of debate, the ID front ignores the evidence and attempts to ridicule the scientists.

Once again the IDiots want to dictate the "rules" of evolution. Berlinski seems to think that he is the keeper of those rules. He continually states that you must have all of the evidence, 100%, in order to prove the theory of evolution. Since he insists that the gaps in the fossil record show that the evidence is incomplete, he insists that evolution cannot be proven. Ergo the "God of the gaps" must have done it.

What a load of shit!

More evidence in favour of evolution.

A recent article on the website Panda's Thumb, http://pandasthumb.org/archives/2008/08/padians-takedow.html,links to a transcript of Kevin Padian's testimony at the Kitzmiller v. Dover trail.

Briefly, the Kitzmiller v. Dover trial dealt with the Dover school boards attempt to bring Intelligent Design into the science classroom.

Fortunately the judge was not fooled by the claim that Intelligent Design is a science and not simply creationism with a new spin.

This case proved, with out a doubt, that ID is not science. It also proved that there is plenty of compelling evidence to support the theory of evolution.

Simply denying that the evidence in favour of evolution does not exist, does not invalidate the reality of evolution.

NASA's Constellation Program

Obviously, at least to me anyway, I haven't been paying enough attention to the Constellation program.
Maybe I'm missing something here but, doesn't this two launch vehicle plus lander and crew module docking in Earth orbit seem a little over complicated. It's not like this has never been done before.
Given the advancements in technology over the past thirty odd years, you might actually have expected the entire program to produce a smaller more powerful vehicle.
Instead a recent report, http://www.universetoday.com/2008/08/21/ares-v-rocket-could-crush-kennedys-crawlerway-will-cost-billions-to-upgrade/, has stated that the Ares V launch vehicle weighs more than the original Saturn V rocket did.

Huh!

The Saturn V rocket contained everything necessary for the entire mission in one launch vehicle.

Personally if I was in charge, I would have sent these guys back to the drawing board. There is an already proven launch vehicle in the data banks. There is no need to reinvent the wheel. Improvements and upgrades could probably be made to the Saturn V rocket that would make it more efficient and less costly with the same end results.
The goal of the program is not to make the most complicated and biggest rocket in the world. Rather, it is to return humans to the Moon and to further our knowledge of the cosmos.

Evolution vs. Creation, an interesting debate.

The continuing exposure of ID stupidity.

Beginning with this article from Panada's Thumb

Then we have the International Society for Science and Religion with their statement about the concept of "Intelligent Design", http://www.issr.org.uk/id-statement.asp

And finally, a couple of sites that reported on the movie Expelled when it came to Canada, http://www.issr.org.uk/id-statement.asp and http://www.benedictionblogson.com/2008/06/27/expelled-no-intelligence-allowed-not-a-hit-with-canadian-reviewers/.

The ID movement continues to promote it's brand of "science".
