Another piece of Canadian aviation history about to head South.

Canada's last surviving Super Connie is about to leave.

We seem to have a problem with keeping Canadian history in Canada. The Seattle museum where Super Connie CF-TGE/FN405 may end up is planning to display her in her original TCA livery.

Why couldn’t we do that here in Canada?

The Toronto Aerospace Museum has been trying to acquire her for some time now, without luck. The current owner of the aircraft has decided that Seattle would be a better place to send her. Who is pulling the strings here? What is more important, preserving the history of your country or making a quick buck? Unfortunately in today’s reality money trumps all.

When it comes to a loonie, all else is forgotten.

There may not be a lot we can do to stop this but, we have to try. If enough of us speak out, we may be able to save another important piece of our heritage.

We can help by signing the petition at www.canadiansuperconnie.org and by checking the site regularly to keep up to date on what is happening.

I hope we can find a way to keep our Super Connie where she belongs, in Canada.
